China is a big producer of LED applications. With the rapid improvement of LED lighting penetration rate, the demand for LED devices is increasing. China has become a major market for global LED packaging manufacturers. The top five Chinese manufacturers with the highest market share in 2013 were Japan Asia chemical, yanguang, sinovel, mullinson and philips, accounting for about one-third of the overall market.

Chinese LED manufacturers are rising fast
Since 2010, due to the rapid expansion of production capacity in the upstream industry and the continuous expansion of the downstream application market, domestic LED packaging manufacturers in China have entered a period of rapid development. Mullinson successfully ranked among the top five packaging market share in China and became the leading packaging manufacturer in China. From 2010 to 2013, LED device revenue increased by 53%, making it the fastest growing manufacturer. Other major manufacturers ruifeng optoelectronics, jufei optoelectronics, changfang lighting compound annual growth rates are more than 30 percent. The huge demand for downstream applications has provided a basis for the rapid development of local packaging manufacturers in China, and LEDinside expects to maintain a rapid development in the next few years.
International LED manufacturers have seen rapid revenue growth in China
In 2013, the total revenue of international packaging manufacturers in the Chinese market was 2 billion us dollars, with the advantage of patent and the benefit of the rise of the lighting market, the annual growth rate was as high as 40%. From the perspective of individual manufacturers, the annual revenue growth of Japanese and Asian chemical companies exceeded 70%, and the revenue share of China increased to 29%. Seoul semiconductor revenue grew 80 percent, while China's revenue increased to 19 percent. And the international big factories such as cory, sharp, philips and osram also have bright revenue performance in China. On the other hand, all but micron and acer have seen their revenues decline in China. Yu bin, an LED analyst, said the rapid rise of Chinese packaging manufacturers posed a threat to Taiwanese manufacturers in the first place, but had little impact on international manufacturers in the short term.
